STING is a Swedish business accelerator owned by Electrum Foundation. Behind Foundation are both private and public actors: the city of Stockholm, KTH, Ericsson, ABB, research institutes in Kista and Kista Science City Business Group and Kista Science City Real Estate.
STING is a non-profit company and operations financed with public funds from the Electrum Foundation and our main partners Vinnova, KTH and EIT ICT Labs, and private capital from partners, as well as through private funding.
STING supports promising Stockholm-based startups, primarily within ICT, internet/media, cleantech and life science.
Each company that is accepted to STING’s accelerator program STING Accelerate automatically receives an investment of SEK 300 000 from Propel Capital.
We evaluate 150-200 projects annually, but based on a tough screening process we accept only 20 companies per year to our incubator and accelerator programs.
Approximately 70 procent of the companies accepted come from industry, and 30 percent are conncted to universities and research institutes.
STING started in 2002 and has provided business development supports to over 100 innovative startups.
