1928 Diagnostics, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based SAAS healthtech startup, has raised almost SEK 20M ($2.2M) from 30 business angels via Sciety. The crowdfunding campaign is still active and is to end in the last week of April 2017.

The company, founded in 2014 and led by CEO Kristina Lagerstedt, has built a sophisticated Software-as-a-Service solution for rapid and comprehensive diagnostics of bacterial infections and for efficient tracing and surveillance of disease outbreaks. Compared to culturing, which is common practice today, 1928D' solution gives a more comprehensive result in 12 hours instead of 48 hours.

Prior to this investment, 1928Diagnostics raised $625k in seed money.
