Bokio, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based startup providing an automated solution for keeping accounting, raised SEK 30M ($3.6M) in outside equity investment.

The money comes from a series of local investors, led by Creandum, and include Svea Ekonomi, Sophia Bendz, Mattias Miksche and existing backer Chalmers Ventures.

Bokio, co-founded in 2014 by CEO Viktor Stensson, has developed an autmated system that allows automated financial accounting via a mobile app. Customers upload receipts and invoices that are automatically recorded and made ready for the Tax Agency.

The application is offered for free and the company claims it has already 19,000 users, with a 50 users per day growth rate. Bokio intends to make money by taking a commision from selling additional financial services, like loans or insurance products, to the users already using the app.

Prior to this investment, Bokio raised SEK 500k in pre-seed funding from Chalmers and Vinnova in 2015.
