AblePay Technologie gets $160k in fresh investment

AblePay Technologies, a Trondheim, Norway-based fintech startup enabling mobile payment for any payment terminal, mobile or tablet, announced receiving an equity investment of $160k. Investors include Investinor, a Norwegian state-owned venture firm, Founders Fund and Sintef.

AblePay Technologies, founded by CTO Steinar Brede, offers SIM/SAM-cards with Bluetooth Low Energy integrated, that can be quickly installed in any payment terminal, and the solution is now being rolled out in tens of thousands of payment terminals in the Nordics. AblePay Technologies was founded in 2009 as a spin-out from the Research Department of Telenor, and the technology has been developed in close collaboration with SINTEF, the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia.
