TrademarkNow closes €5M in fresh funding in a debt and equity package.

TrademarkNow, a Helsinki, Finland-based company providing an intelligent web-based trademark management platform, announced securing a €5M ($5.9M) financing package.

The money comes in an equity investment form (€3M - $3.5M) from investors including Karma Ventures, Balderton Capital and Montiko GmbH, with an additional €2M loan from Finnvera.

TrademarkNow, founded in 2012 by Onomatics Inc., a legal technology powerhouse specializing in intellectual property law, has developed a SAAS trademark management platform that is used by enterprise companies, law firms and branding agencies for instant trademark clearance and watch results.

The company, led by CEO Mikael Kolehmainen, has made significant inroads into disrupting a traditional market previously dominated by legacy providers, TrademarkNow employs 37 people located in offices in the US, Ireland, UK, Germany and Finland.

Prior to this deal, TrademarkNow raised more than $4M in outside funding from investors including Lifeline Ventures, Balderton and Tekes.
