Vizor, a Helsinki, Finland-based virtual reality platform developer, announced raising a $2.3M funding round.

The backers include The Venture Reality Fund (The VR Fund), Inventure, Boost VC, Lifeline Ventures and Sisu Game Ventures and the money will be used to enhance the development and functionality of its platform, which helps lower the barrier to entry for both VR content creation and consumption.

The announcement was made at Facebook's conference F8, together with the private beta launch of its VR creation and hosting platform, which allows users to effortlessly produce 360-degree tours, stories and WebVR experiences by simply dragging and dropping media components.

Vizor, founded in 2014 by Jaakko Manninen, Antti Jaederholm, Anna Rosa Lappalainen and Kaarlo Kananen (CEO), developed an online platform that lets its users explore, create, and publish virtual reality on the web. Equipped with easy-to-use tools such as instant preview, drag-and-drop features, text editor with web font support and more, Vizor allows creative teams across all industries to build and publish 360-degree tours, immersive stories, virtual visits and WebVR experiences onto a website or Facebook feed – all with no coding required.
