Barnebys, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing a digital search service for art, antiques and collectibles, secured $2.8M in fresh capital from a range of local investors, including Kichi Invest, Industrifonden, Inbox Capital, Accum Kapital, Jens von Bahr and Jonas Engwall.

The money was partly used to fuel two transactions Barnebys has made in the American market: the purchasing of Collectors Weekly and of Simple Auction Site.

Barnebys was founded in 2011 by Christopher Barnekow (CEO) and Pontus Silfverstolpe and developed an online service that makes it easy to search for art, antiques and collectibles.

The company previously raised money from investors including Inbox Capital, Industrifonden, Active Venture Partners, Howzat or Monkfish.
