Bintel, a Helsingborg, Sweden-based startup manufacturing a wearable that helps with better garbage collection, secured SEK 3.2M ($360k) in a seed capital investment round.

The funding is provided by angel investors including Anders Hedberg, Dan Nilsson, and Karsten Deppert as well as by grants from Vinnova, Energy Agency and Almi Invest.

The money will be used for further development and take the product to market to all municipalities in Sweden.

Bintel, founded in 2018 by CEO Tom Johansen, developed a product that is mounted on the household waste bin and then communicates directly with the route planning tools that give the waste trucks their collection routes. The company is already working with three municipalities that run pilot tests on various digitalization services.
