Bitrefill secured $2M in capital from Coin Ninja, Charlie Lee, Fulgur Ventures and BnkToTheFuture.

Bitrefill, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company that offers cryptocurrency gift cards, announced in a press release that it secured $2M in capital investment.

The funding was backed by Coin Ninja, which led the round, and included participation from Fulgur Ventures, BnkToTheFuture, and litecoin’s founder, Charlie Lee. The money will be used to further expand Bitrefill's offerings to expand its access to a global market place.

Bitrefill, founded in  2014 by Patric Stiller and Sergej Kotliar, built a service that provides mobile credit top-ups in cryptocurrency. The company offers a wide variety of gift card options for over 170 countries and provides more than 750 different gift cards from brands such as Uber, Hotels.com, Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, Google Play, Xbox, PlayStation, along with many others.

Bitrefill has added a service allowing users to book Airbnb rentals with five cryptocurrencies and also provides  cryptocurrency support for Netflix subscriptions.

Prior to this round, Birefill was backed by Boost VC in 2015.
