Blueye Robotics got investment in the company.

Blueye Robotics, a Trondheim, Norway-based manufacturer of under sea vehicles, secured NOK 50M ($6.4M) in capital investment.

The money comes from a range of Norwegian investors including Grieg, Erik Haugane, Leif-Arne Langøy and Sindre Finnes, and will be used to further support the production work and the sales development of the company.

Blueye Robotics, founded in by Christine Spiten and CEO Erik Dyrkoren, developed Blueye Pioneer, an underwater drone that dives eight times deeper than the average scuba enthusiast. The prosumer underwater drone is suitable for ocean explorers of every type who want to discover what lies beneath the ocean as well as for the professionals interested in scientific and enterprise use.

The company will release publicly its product in the second part of 2018 and has already pre-sold 600 units.
