Breakit adds $900k in fresh capital and Thord Wilkne as new investor in the company.

Breakit, a Stockholm, Sweden-based media company, announced securing SEK 8M ($900k) in a new investment round. The funding comes from existing and new investors, including Thord Wilkne, at a pre-money valuation of SEK 50M ($5.7M).

Breakit, founded in 2015 by former Bonnier journalists Olle Aronsson and Stefan Lundell, is an online media outlet covering the Swedish business ecosystem. In 2017, the company registered around SEK 12M ($1.4M) in revenues, compared to SEK 6.8M in the previous year, when it lost SEK 1.5M.

Prior to this capital round, Breakit raised about $800k from a group of angel investors including Staffan Persson, Anton Holmquist, Bo Mattsson, Joacim Ståhl and Lars Wingefors. The two founders control a little more than 50% of the company.
