Coinify acquired BetterCoins.
Coinify ApS, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company operating a global virtual currency payment platform, announced that it acquired BetterCoins, also based in Denmark, in the city of Odense.
The acquisition, which has the financial details undisclosed, was made in the context of ever-growing challenges that the cryptocurrency trading industry faces as a whole. This includes pressure for heavier regulation against them, including a lower degree of market volume, and the current range of alignment that existed between the two companies when it comes to their respective beliefs.
BetterCoins’ customers are provided close support and guidance from Coinify starting with 14 December, when the acquisition was completed.
BetterCoins, founded in 2014 by CEO Mads Johan Eberhardt, is a fast-growing virtual currency broker.
Coinify ApS, founded also in 2014 and led by CEO Mark Højgaard, is a bitcoin company that helps merchants accept the cryptocurrency and builds tools to help users pay with bitcoin. The company has raised almost $9M in capital, with investors including SEB Ventures, SEED Capital and Nordic Eye.
