Fitness Collection was acquired by US-based Classpass.

Fitness Collection, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company operating a training membership business, announced that it was acquired by the American competitor ClassPass.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition is part of a strategic investment to grow and expand across the Nordic region. Malin Torstensson, CEO of FitnessCollection, has been appointed Nordic Manager for ClassPass.

ClassPass, founded in 2013 by Payal Kadakia and headquartered in New York, is the world's largest booking service for gym and workout passes.

FitnessCollection, founded in 2015 and led by CEO Malin Torstensson, provides an aggregated membership offer with access to training studios from Stockholm and Gothenburg. The company was not ptofitable as of 2018, with revenues around SEK 4M ($410k).

FitnessCollection was backed by a range of Swedish investors, including Aggregate Media and Nordic Tech House.
