Flygildi, a Reykjavik, Iceland-based company manufacturing drones for covert and silent operations, announced securing an undisclosed amount of capital investment.

The money was provided by undisclosed angel investors led by Spakur Finance, and will be use to fund its marketing efforts overseas and to continue developing the drone’s software.

Flygildi, founded in 2012 by electrical engineer Hjalti Harðarson and the aerospace engineer Dr. Leifur Þór Leifsson, developed Silent Flyer, a game-changing drone, which can mimic the performance of an actual bird, thereby emitting less than 70dB of noise, while blending on with the surroundings through customizable appearance. The drone flies using flapping wings for lift and propulsion, disguising itself as a bird.
