FutureOn, an Oslo, Norway-based visualisation software developer for oil companies, announced the completion of a $4.5 million funding round.

The money was raised from Kongsberg Digital and is part of a larger strategic deal that will bring together FutureOn’s FieldTwin and KDI’s Kognitwin platforms, supporting a comprehensive approach for designing, building and operating digital twins for energy projects.

Kongsberg Digital will join Bentley Systems as a strategic minority investor.

FutureOn, founded in 2016 as a spinoff from the 3D visualization agency Xvision and led by CEO Paal Roppen, develops and sells a design application FieldAP and a cloud-based data platform FieldTwin, which offers centralized API integrations to many of the leading engineering simulation and data analysis tools. When combined with FieldTwin, FieldAP enables cross-discipline remote collaboration for design and development of subsea digitaltwins.

FutureOn previously raised $6 million from the Bentley Acceleration Fund in 2020.

Total investments received (USD): 10.5M
