Hedvig has raised $3.4M from investors including Cherry Ventures and Khaled Helioui.

Hedvig, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing a software as a service solution for the insurance industry, announced in a press release securing SEK 30M ($3.4M) in capital investment.

The money was provided by a range of new and existing investors including Cherry Ventures and angels Khaled Helioui, Nicklas Storåkers, Sophia Bendz and Sven Hagströmer.

Hedvig was founded in 2016 by John Ardelius, Lucas Carlsén and Fredrik Fors in order to offer a simple, fast and fair insurance for both rental and owned apartments, as well as insurance for travel and most gadgets and items from phones to bikes. The company takes a cut of 20 percent of the consumer's monthly payment and works with the German insurance company Inter Hannover.

Prior to this, Hedvig raised $600k in pre-seed capital. The company has launched its service in May 2018.
