Ilya Pharma raises SEK 4.5M in a pre-seed round
Ilya Pharma, an Uppsala, Sweden-based pharmaceutical company, announced raising SEK 4.5M ($540k) in a pre-seed investment round. The money comes from a number of undisclosed investors and is part of a larger investment round the company is seeking to close by the end of 2017.
The funds will be used for initiating the company's first drug candidate in clinical trials to reach clinical data.
Ilya Pharma, founded in 2016 by Evelina Vågesjö (CEO), Mia Phillipson and Stefan Roos, has developed a possible drug candidate for faster wound healing as a result of a technology platform in which lactic acid bacteria are used to deliver human proteins that act on healing of skin sores and also in the gastrointestinal tract.
