Kavalri Games, a Stockholm, Sweden-based gaming studio, announced in a press release that it secured SEK 3M ($310k) in capital investment.

The funding was provided by new and existing investors, including Coffee Stain Studios and Goodbye Kansas, both of which are part of the Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic).

Kavalri Games, founded in 2018 by Molly Ericsson and Axl Söderhäll Andersson, is developing the mobile game Equestrian - The Horse Game, which allows the player to create his own horse and equestrian career from scratch. The game is expected to be launched in closed beta in 2020.

The investment is being made as part of Coffee Stain's Levelling the Playing Field initiative, which aims to address the industry's gender imbalance investing in small teams, equally made up of women and men employees. Under the program, Coffee Stain also invested in Other Tales Interactive, a two-woman team which authored Tick Tock: A Tale for Two.
