Soletair Power to complete a EUR 500k seed strategic round from the technology group Wärtsilä
Soletair Power Oy, a Lappeenranta, Finland-based startup activating in Power-to-X, announced that it has received EUR 500,000 ($565k) in seed funding.
The money was provided by strategic investor Wärtsilä Corporation and will be used to pilot and commercialize its concept of improving air quality in buildings by capturing CO2 and converting it to synthetic renewable fuel. With the Soletair Power next generation pilot plant, the company takes an important step in bringing its proven technology to market.
Soletair Power Oy, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Petri Laakso, has developed a unique concept to improve air quality in buildings by capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) and converting it to synthetic renewable fuel.
Soletair Power’s concept represents an important step towards carbon neutral societies - while hydrogen can be produced from renewable energy sources, the Soletair Power concept captures the CO2 from the air and utilises synthesis to combine these into hydrocarbons suitable for synthetic renewable fuel.
