Superside secured $3.5M from Freestyle Capital et all
Superside, a Palo Alto, USA and Oslo, Norway-based company providing outsourced creative projects at scale to enterprise teams, announced that it secured $3.5M in capital investment.
The funding was backed by Freestyle Capital, and included financial contributions from High Alpha Ventures, Y Combinator, and Alliance Ventures. The money will be used to increase the team of designers, invest in new products and scale the company's automation platform.
Superside, founded as Konsus in 2015 and led by CEO Fredrik Thomassen, positions itself as a design company that delivers at scale to enterprise teams — from everyday production work to large-scale strategic design solutions.
The company was launched as an alternative to freelance work available via marketplaces such as 99designs and Fiverr. As such it built its own freelance platform, with designers located all around the world spanning 58 countries and 19 timezones.
Superside's platform is built for large enterprises that have their own design and marketing teams but still need additional support with an automated system combining design workflow technology with verified talent. It provides a fully-managed process which includes everything from staffing and sourcing, to project management, and invoice tracking, as well as 360-evaluations.
Customers include Uber, LinkedIn, L’Oreal, Cisco, Santander, Amazon, Walmart Tiffany & Co. Hewlett Packard and Airbus.
In 2015, Superside was accepted into Y Combinator and raised a subsequent round of $1.5M in 2016.
