Formal Friday, a Helsinki, Finland-based company manufacturing fashion products for men, has received an undisclosed amount of investment funding. The backers include the footbal player Joel Pohjanpalo, as well as other un-named local investors and Finnish investment companies.

Formal Friday, founded in 2014 by Teemu Muurimäki, Toni Tervilä (CEO), Pentti Jokinen, Lauri Mäkelä and Tatu Artman, has developed a new Finnish menswear brand fusing adventure sports fabrics into fashion. Formal Friday’s debut collection burst onto the scene early-2015 with 18 products, ranging from shawl-collared polos and blazers to classic cut Tees and underwear. 16 of the 18 products are made from Merino wool.

Formal Friday intends to use the money for expanding its international growth with a particular focus on the Asian market, where its products received positive feedback.
