Motorious adds €800,000 in fresh funding from investors Nordea and Finnvera.
Motorious, a Helsinki, Finland-based gaming startup announced raising a new round of money in equity totalling €800,000 ($894k). The lead investors are led by Nordea, thorugh its Startup and Growth Services operation and Finnvera.
Motorious, founded in early 2015 by Jari Pauna and Timo Poijärvi, is focusing on creating fun and addictive games for mobile devices.
The company has signed a global licensing deal with BBC to produce and distribute a series of TopGear branded mobile games. The first title, Top Gear Road Trip, is due to launch by mid 2017 and is a match-three title that themes its levels around famous challenges from the TV show, such as launching a Robin Reliant rocket ship or racing across Europe.
Prior to this investment, Motorious raised $560k in seed money from two unnamed Nordic investors in 2016.
