Sfty, a Norwegian startup founded by Stein Bakker and based in Oslo, is a startup that manufactures personal and home-safety connected devices.

One of their products, sfty Sense, is a wireless, smartphone app-controlled combined smoke- and motion-detector designed specifically for use in multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and apartments to protect the owner against the threat of fire and theft, as well as provide temperature and relative humidity data.

Sfty leaves from the idea that only four to eight percent of the apartments in Europe are connected to an alarm service. Instead, many of them have smoke detectors, but a large percentage of them no longer work, either they are broken or have dead battery.

Sfty is in the final stages of raising a seed investment round from Nordic investors in the NOK 20-30M range, intermmediated by Pareto. In 2015, the company had a turnover of NOK 4.4 million and a loss before tax of 4.7 million.
