Silmäasema, the second largest optical chain from Finalnd, expands in Estonia and buys Optika chain

Silmäasema Fennica Oy has agreed to acquire the Estonia-based Tallinna Optika from the founder Kalev Klaisilta. Tallinna Optika is an optical retailer with 8 chain stores covering the whole of Estonia: three stores in Tallinn and the rest of Tartu, Pärnu, Viljandi and Tapassa.

Tallinna Optika employs 34 people, 10 of which there are ophthalmologists. Silmäasema is Finland's second largest optical chain store and a market leader in a number of eye health care areas. The Tallinna Optika chain acquisition is the first step in an internationalization process.
