Kubo Robot to get DKK 6.6M from KMD and Vækstfonden - The Danish Growth Fund
Kubo Robot, an Odense, Denmark manufacturer of educational coding robots for kids, announced raising DKK 6.6M ($980k) in external funding. The backers are KMD Ventures and VF Venture Vækstfonden and the money will be used to strengthen the company as it looks to expand internationally.
Kubo Robot, founded in 2014 by Tommy Otzen and Daniel Friis Lindegaard, started as a research project at Social Technology Lab from the University of Southern Denmark. The goal of the project was to investigate and develop new and better ways for young children to learn with and about technology.
The products can be pre-ordered and have an estimated delivery date of June 2017.
Prior to this transaction, Kubo raised a seed round investment from KMD in September 2016.
