Balter Medical AS has developed a rigorous medical imaging device & diagnostic algorithm, called Optical Transfer Diagnosis (OTD), for detecting anomalies in human tissue.

Balter, founded in 2001 by Prof. Jakob J. Stamnes and Prof. Knut Stamnes., has as purpose to develop and commercialize medical applications of the Optical Transfer Theory, a mathematical modeling technique using digital photographic images (pictures) to understand the properties of the subject in the picture.
