Aqua Robur Technologies receives SEK 7.2M from Chalmers, Almi and private investors.
Aqua Robur Technologies, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based company working on a technology for more efficient measurement of water quality and water leakage, annouced securing a capital investment round of SEK 7.2M ($820k).
The money comes from Almi Invest (SEK 2.4M), Chalmers Ventures and other private investors, and will be used to market launch of the system in Europe.
Aqua Robur Technologies, founded in 2015 and led by CEO Niklas Johansson, developed an IoT platform called Fenix Hub, which is technology that measures and collects data in order to find leakages and deficient water quality in public water pipelines. The Fenix Hub is both more cost-effective and flexible, as it generates its own power through the motion energy in the water flow. This eliminates the need for costly power and wired communications, saving big money for VA companies while monitoring the network in real time.
The system is currently in five pilot installations at various Swedish water companies. The system will be launched on a wider scale in selected European countries in 2018.
