Baum und Pferdgarten adds Verdane as major owner in the company.

Baum und Pferdgarten, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based fashion company announced getting into an agreement for adding Verdane Capital as major owner of the company.

The deal, which has the financial details undisclosed, was made for a controlling equity package of 51% and was made with the actual owners the brothers couple Teis and Bjørn Bruun and the two founders.

Teis and Bjørn Bruun bought into Baum Und Pferdgarten in 2009 when the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. They owned 40% of the company each, while founders Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave owned the remaining 20%. In connection with the sale to Verdane, Bjørn Bruun resigns from the circle of owners, while Teis continues as CEO and co-owner and Baumgarten and Hestehave retain creative responsibility and continue in the circle of ownership.

Baum und Pferdgarten was founded in 1999 and has become one of the leading Danish fashion houses, active in 30 countries, through their owned stores or through distributors.
