Bemlo to raise $3.3M in a seed round backed by Y Combinator, Long Journey Ventures, Uncommon Capital and angel investors.
Bemlo, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup building a marketplace for short-term staffing of nurses and doctors, announced completing a seed funding round closed at $3.3 million.
The money was raised from US-based investors, including Y Combinator, Long Journey Ventures, Uncommon Capital and angel investors Arash Ferdowsi and Austen Allred.
Bemlo, founded in 2020 by Alexander Björkenstam, Alfred Wahlforss, Benjamin Waye, Edvin Fernqvist and Frithiof Ekström, developed a recruitment marketplace connecting nurses and doctors with short-term assignments. The company is active in Sweden, Norway and the UK, and works with both sides of the market, namely healthcare professionals as well as healthcare staffing agencies, which have to pay for advertising their jobs.
Bemlo is one the European startups that were part of Y Combinator in the summer of 2022 and previuosly raised funding from Sweden from Devotion Ventures.
