DrugStars secures $2.7M from byFounders, Inventure and Digital Health Ventures, wants to expand in USA.
DrugStars, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company operating a mobile application that gamifies the taking medicine process, completed a DKK 18M ($2.7M) capital investment round.
The money was provided by a group of investors including Danish VC byFounders, Finnish Inventure and German Digital Health Ventures. Funding will be used to strengthen the product and expand its availability in the US market.
DrugStars, founded in 2016 by Claus Møldrup, Martin Plambek, Finn Overgaard, Jesper Kilbæk and Paul Clements, built a mobile application that acts as a reward program, with a gamified process for the hassle of taking medicine, vitamins, minerals even prevention pills. The app is used by more than 150,000 users and aims to become a kind of TrustPilot for patients where they can each assess how the medicine works for them and where they can also help improve the medicine through their assessments.
Prior to this deal, Drug Stars raised money from SEED Capital and angel Henrik Holmark in 2017.
