Echion Technologies aised £10M in Series A funding from CBMM
Echion Technologies, a Cambridge UK-based manufacturer of next generation materials for Lithium-Ion batteries, announced raising £10M ($13.8M) in Series A funding.
The romoney was raised from Brazil-based CBMM with participation from the University of Cambridge and Origin Capital.
The proceeds will be used for production scaling and enhancing customer support, commercial and R&D operations.
Echion Technologies, founded as a spinoff from Cambridge University by CEO Jean de La Verpilliere, produces advanced lithium-ion battery materials, whose products enable cell manufacturers to deliver cost-effective, fast-charging, high-energy density and long-life power cells for a wide range of markets including automotive, transportation, premium consumer electronics, and grid-storage applications. The batteries have been evaluated by major battery cell and battery materials manufacturers around the world and are now moving forward to larger scale trials.
