Epulze in a SEK 57 million funding round backed by Svea Ekonomi from Sweden and Carucel Finance from Norway.

Epulze, an Örebro, Sweden-based operator of an esports tournament platform, announced closing a funding deal totalling SEK 57 million ($6.6M).

The deal was financed by Sweden-based Svea Ekonomi and Norway-based Carucel Finance.

Two of the founders, Tristan Sjöberg and Michael Knutsson, also took part in the latest funding round via Knutsson Holdings, as they increased ownership in the company.

Esports Pulze, founded in 2015 by three Swedish brothers Mattias, Markus and Pontus Lövgren, developed a platform hat lets players compete for money in their favorite games, including the big e-sports titles Counter-Strike: Global offensive and Dota 2.

The platform offers players access to competing for prize money and other prizes as they can join automated tournaments and challenges. Epulze currently has 37 employees in six countries.

Prior to this round, in 2019, Epulze raised SEK $17.5M and announced its intentions to publicly float its shares in 2020.
