Forus, a Helsinki, Finland-based company providing solar energy services, announced the completion of a EUR 1M ($1.1M) capital investment round.

The money was provided by Finnish investors, including Kokkuhoideur, an investment company owned by Henrik Ehrnrooth, Chairman of Pöyry's Board of Directors and his children. The funding will be used to expand the team and develop its operations.

Forus, founded by Jarmo Honkamaa, the former deputy CEO of Neste and led by CEO Eero Oksanen, built a business that installs a solar power plant on the customer's roof for free, and the customer pays for the solar electricity it generates. After the contract period, the power plant will remain with the customer. Forus has installed the power plant at about 20 sites.
