Orbital Systems adds $3.8M in funding and a local industrial investor, Sandberg Development
Orbital Systems, a Malmö, Sweden-based company manufacturing and selling an advanced shower system aimed to save water, secured a SEK 30M ($3.8M) investment round supported by a local industrial investor, Sandberg Development.
Sandberg Development, started in 1992 and led by CEO Martin Jonsson, is a family-owned group of three companies with interests in widely diverse industries, based in the Malmö/Lund region.
The deal aims to leverage synergies between Orbital and one of Sandberg's subisidary companies, Granuldisk, which develops pot washing machines, which use up to 90% less water, energy and chemicals than traditional pot washing methods.
Orbital Systems, founded in 2012 and led by CEO Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, developed and sells an advanced shower system allowing up to 90% water savings and 80% energy savings while increasing comfort and hygiene.
The company has massive risk capital funding, with about $30M raised from high profile investors including Peter Carlsson, Niklas Zennström, Karl-Johan Persson, Jochnick family foundation (founding family of Oriflame), Stena Ventures, and Soläng Invest.
