Whywaste, a SAAS food waste startup from Gothenburg, secures funding from angel investors.

Whywaste, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based startup offering a SAAS solution for food waste, raised an undisclosed round of seed investment. The backers are local private investors, including Filip Engelbert, Jonas Nordlander, Henric Wiklund and Fabian Hielte.

Why waste, founded in 2013 by Christopher Hagstedt, Martin Gradal and Sebastian Höglin Thorden, provides a SAAS solution that helps local food retailers to identify products close to expiration so that they may lower the prices. The company has around 80 clients, and has managed to reduce food waste by 60-70%.
