Zmarta Group acquires Elskling, Sweden’s leading online comparison platform for electricity.

Zmarta Group, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing services within consumer finance announced the acquisition of Elskling, Sweden’s leading online comparison platform for electricity.

The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.

The acquisition of Elskling is adding comparison of electricity to Zmarta Group’s existing product portfolio containing digital comparative services related to loans, insurances, savings and credit cards.

Elskling, founded in Stockholm 2007 and led by CEO Faraz Azima, is the leading online electricity broker in the Nordics.

Zmarta, founded in 1999 and led by CEO Björn Lander, is a holding group comprising a range of brands including Zmarta, Freedom Finance and Centum. Thos brands act as comparison platform within services including loans, insurances, savings, credit cards, mobile subscriptions, broadband.

Zmarta Group has 200 employees and is owned by Bauer Media Group, which purchased the company in 2016.

Elskling will continue under the same name after the acquisition, maintaining the CEO and other executives to further develop the service together with Zmarta.
