A British legal tech startup named Luminance just announced a $40 million series B round. The Brits have been in business since 2015 and are developing legal LLM used to automate the generation, negotiation and analysis of contracts and other legal documents.
The deal made us curious about who else is using AI in this industry while backed by professional investors - we've had a look at the legal tech space from Europe, particularly up and coming startups using AI in their propositions one way or another. Screened 300+ deals from the past 2 years and kept it narrow on applied SAAS into the legal field (excluded contract management for example).
