Helsinki Loves Developers: Publishing responses of map-based surveys as open data
The opinions and experiences of citizens and other stakeholders are extremely valuable for urban development and research. There are many ways to collect this information, for instance by using online participation tools.
The City of Helsinki has used a number of map-based online survey tools over the years to collect citizens’ opinions to support its research and development work. What are these tools? And what are some of the interesting insights that have been obtained? The city intends to conduct map-based surveys also in the future, and it aims to publish the results as open data whenever possible.
Welcome to the Helsinki Loves Developers meetup to hear what kind of map surveys have been conducted in Helsinki and what data sets have been generated. We will also hear about the kinds of map surveys that will be implemented in the future and discuss how to further develop map-based survey methods and the utilization of the data by different stakeholders.
