Agency9 was acquired by American software company Bentley Systems.

Agency9, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing web and mobile solutions for 3D visualization of geographic information and maps for collaboration and communication, announced that it was acquired by Bentley Systems, an American-based software development company specialized in design, construction, and operation of infrastructure.

The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Following the deal, Agency9's investors, including Almi Invest, Partnerinvest Norr and Spintop Ventures, make the exit from the company.

Agency9, founded in 2003 and led by CEO Håkan Engman, works with nearly half of Sweden’s larger municipalities with city-scale digital twin cloud services for city planning and related web-based 3D visualization.

The company had been using in its implementation project Bentley's technology since 2013, as it took advantage of reality meshes created by Bentley’s ContextCapture reality modeling software as the digital context for visualizing urban infrastructure assets represented in GIS data, terrain surveys, and BIM models.
