Ava has raised a $4.5M Series Seed co-led by Khosla Ventures & Initialized Capital.
Ava, a Paris, France-based startup developing software to help deaf and hard-of-hearing people, announced that it completed a funding round of $4.5 million.
The money was raised from investors co-led by Khosla Ventures and Initialized Capital.
Ava, founded in 2017 by CEO Thibault Duchemin, Skinner Cheng (who is deaf) and Pieter Doevendans, started with the development of a mobile app that can be used as a personal mobile captioner. Later on, the company moved into the professional market, with products including Ava Closed Captions, used for captions for all online meetings and videos on desktops computers and online in 15+ languages., and Ava Scribe, which gives users instant access to 99% accurate captions using a mix of real-time AI-based captions and live transcription.
Ava previously raised $2M.
