Bolt raised €600 million in a Series E round.

Bolt, a Talinn, Estonia-based digital provider of transportation services, announced securing €600 million ($713M) in a Series E financing round.

The money was raised from a range of investors including Sequoia, Tekne, and Ghisallo, G Squared, D1 Capital, and Naya. Proceeds will be used as the company intends to enter the grocery deliver market, joining the many online grocery startups from Europe funded by venture money.

Bolt, founded in 2013 by Markus Villig, Martin Villig (CEO) and Oliver Leisalu, started as a provider of on-demand transportation services in a few capitals from Europe. Now the company covers 200 cities in 40 countries and reached 75 million users globally.
