BOOKR raises €4 million in a round led by Bonitas
BOOKR Kids, a Budapst, Hungary-based educational service provider, announced that it completed a funding round of €4 million ($4.8M).
The money was raised as an equity round of €2 million as well as an another €2 million in a convertible note, from investors led by Bonitas Ventures.
The money will be used to take BOOKR's English-learning literacy programme BOOKR Class to the global education market, and boost further the company goal of mitigating COVID-19’s impact on education.
BOOKR Kids, founded in 2015 by CEO Dorka Horvath, is a digital publisher for educational content, as it built a business around a reading-based edutainment tool. The tool provides access to applications to 3-11-year-old children in roder to improve their literacy skills, reading comprehension and English as a second language through well-known pieces of literature and texts written by educational experts, linguists and language teachers.
BOOKR previously raised a total of €1 million investment from Hiventures Venture Capital Fund in 2018.
