Capital A Partners announces a $60M fund focused on early stage companies from the Nordics.
Capital A Partners, a Charleston, USA and Nordic-based venture capitalist firm specialising in B2B technology, announced launching a $60M investment fund focused on early stage companies primarily based in the Nordic region.
Cap A will focus on sectors including Internet of Things (IoT), mobility, and human-computer interaction, as well as the nanotechnology, advanced materials, and security layer technologies that enable them.
The fund is supported by early commitments received from California-based Universal Electronics Inc (UEI), a leader in control device and IoT technologies, as well as other un-named strategic investors.
The announcement comes as after having run an earlier investment pilot fund, CAP A Fund I, consisting of 18 investments across the Nordics and USA.
In the Nordics, investments included Pacemaker, Kaptio, Small Giant Games or Mantex.
Cap A was also part of a EUR 15M fund, Butterfly Venture Fund III, launched at the beginning of 2017, in partnership with Butterfly Ventures, a Helsinki, FInland-based seed investor.
Capital A Partners, managed by founders David Mendez and Tanya Marvin-Horowitz, is planning the initial close for the fund during the first half of 2018.
