Carrot Kitchen to raise €500k in a pre-seed funding round led by Paulig’s venture arm Pinc Incubator.
Carrot Kitchen, a Helsinki, Finland-based food startup, announced completing a pre-seed funding round of €500k ($611k).
The money was raised from investors led by Paulig’s venture arm Pinc Incubator and joined by Ari Tolppanen’s Aristo Invest and TukkuHeino, owned by the Heino Family.
The funding will be used to scale the business by launching the app to the UK market and hiring related key roles.
Carrot Kitchen, founded in 2017 by CEO Olli Freese, Piritta Koivisto and Emmi Kuusikko, developed a mobile solution that is used as a pedagogic and game-like cooking app which inspires kids to cook and eat healthy.
The app guides children through a step-by-step process with interactive videos and voice instructions. It also has special tutorials on how to use various cooking tools and operate in the kitchen safely. The service is developed in a fun and game-like way with several elements that will keep the children engaged, including points and reward systems topped with fun cooking challenges.
Carrot Revolution Oy, the company behind Carrot Kitchen app, previously raised an early pre-seed investment in 2019 from Tukku Heino and grants and loans from Business Finland and Finnvera.
