Cauldron raised $6.6 million in a seed round led by Cherry Ventures and joined by Cassius, Seedcamp and Playfair.

Cauldron, a London, UK-based creative studio working on a stealth project, completed a seed extension round closed at $6.6 million.

The money was raised from investors from the UK led by the German VC Cherry Ventures, and including contributions from Seedcamp, Cassius family, IQ Capital and Playfair Capital.

Cauldron, spun off of London-based Thought Machine in 2021 by CEO Mark Warrick, Matthew Newcombe, Fox Rogers and Matt Hyde, is working on a web3 gaming world, Project Nightshade, expected to be launched in the seoncd part of 2022. The company says it plans to release three different gaming worlds to the public: two worlds have a fantasy angle, while one world is focused on science fiction. For development it also says that it is using Unity's gaming platform in order to advance beautiful gamified money apps and devices, such as Vault Rare, Nestlings, Nestlums and Saviour.

Cauldron's initial seed round was closed at $1.4 million in February 2022.
