Circulor to get capital investment from InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s VC arm.
Circulor, a London, UK-based-based software developer for tracking recycling and resource extraction on a manufacturing value chain, announced that it secures a capital raise funding round backed by InMotion Ventures.
The deal has the financial details undisclosed. InMotion Ventures is the venture capital arm of the British auto producer Jaguar Land Rover.
Circulor, founded in 2017 by CEO Douglas Johnson-Poensgen and Veera Johnson, develops what they call a Traceability-as-a-Service platform, which is a blockchain-based tool helping clients check where their manufacturing materials are coming from and the sustainable or ethical (or not) way those resources are extracted. It’s accountability tech for the supply chain.
The technology traces valuable raw materials throughout a global supply chain from origin to supplier, with a combination of GPS, biometrics and QR codes. Circulor is already using blockchain to boost the traceability of minerals used for electric vehicle batteries. As well as tracking compliance, the digital process will enable Jaguar Land Rover to assess the carbon footprint of its supply network.
