Climedo in €5 million seed financing round led by Nauta Capital.
Climedo, a Munich, Germany-based software startup developing a platform used for electronic data capture and product surveillance of medical devices and pharmaceutical products in decentralised clinical trials, announced completing a €5 million ($5.7M) seed financing round.
The money was raised from investors led by Nauta Capital and joined by Westtech Ventures and by angel investor Christian Wallwiener (WMC Healthcare).
The proceeds will be used for expanding within Europe and for further developing its software solutions.
Climedo, founded in 2017 by Sascha Ritz, Dragan Mileski and Veronika Schweighart, developed a digital platform for electronic data capture in decentralized clinical trials which is patient-centric and to enable end-to-end communication between study coordinators, physicians and patients. By capturing and processing real-time data, the company enables approvals of drugs and medical devices, and provides post-market surveillance, where the safety and performance of products on the market are documented throughout their lifecycle. Climedo’s EDC (Electronic Data Capture) system also includes an ePRO (electronic patient-reported outcomes) feature, whereas the clinical trial subjects thereby keep an electronic patient diary which asks them about their daily symptoms.
Customers include hospitals such as Berlin’s Charité and numerous medical device manufacturers, pharma companies and contract research organizations.
