Combine was acquired by its Sweden-based competitor Bruce.
Bruce, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company operating a mobile app that provides membership access to gym facilities, announced that it acquired its smaller competitor, the Norwegian training subscription provider Combine.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition involves taking over Combine's existing customers and partners, and the business continues under Bruce's name but under the leadership of the Norwegians.
Combine, founded in 2018 by Line Standal, Siw-Cathrine Braa and Herman Hansen, provides access to gym memberships to 70 different training facilities. In 2019, the company had sales of less than $500k.
Bruce, founded in 2015 by Magnus Elm and Anton Holmquist, built an app that aggregates access to various studios, gyms and other facilities for training and sports via one membership. The company raised $2M from D-ax Corporate Venture Capital in 2019.
