eBay acquires AI company Expertmaker for an undisclosed amount

Malmö-based Expertmaker, founded in 2006, has already had the e-commerce giant Ebay on its customer list for a long time. On Thursday evening, Swedish time, Ebay revealed that the company acquires Expertmaker for an undisclosed sum.

The deal seems to be a so called acqui-hire.

Expert Maker had sales of $1.2 million (9.5 million SEK) between August 2014 and 2015, according to its latest financial statements. The company operated at a 1.8 million SEK loss, which was a clear improvement on the previous year, when the company lost $1 million (8.5 million SEK).
