Elsa raises $700k for a digital health platform.
Elsa, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup working for the development of a digital health platform, announced that it secured $700k in a seed investment round.
The backing was provided by angel investors Erik Byrenius, Louise Samet and Hampus Jakobsson as well as by venture companies Inventure and Crowberry Capital.
In conjunction with the funding, Ekaterina Gianelli from Inventure and Hekla Arnardottir from Crowberry join the board.
Elsa, founded in 2017 by CEO Sofia Svanteson, Sofia Svanteson, Sebastian Evans, Pelle Almquist, Lovisa Afzelius and the Riskminder Foundation, is working on a medical platform for patient driven research for better drugs, health and prevention. The aim is to let patients become their own personal researchers by providing them with a better understanding around how lifestyle factors may affect their disease activity measurements for rheumatoid arthritis.
When patients use the Elsa app — and select their prescribed drug — they can maximise the effect of their treatment by keeping a record of their lifestyle and symptoms. The app analyses the habits based on scientific research and this can motivate changes in behaviour.
Priro to this investment, Elsa was funded by design agency Ocean.
